Teak Maintenance

Teak is naturally resistant to weathering and insect damage, and requires no finish. In fact, no oil, wax or other product will prolong the life of Teak furniture.

Left alone in an outdoor environment, however, Teak furniture will fade to a silvery gray color. If you wish to avoid this effect, application of teak oil or tung oil is recommended. This is done by simply wiping it on with a cloth. Your Teak furniture will arrive already treated with teak oil. Teak oil or tung oil should be re-applied once every 6 to 12 months, depending on its exposure to direct sunlight.

The use of stains, sealers or any other finishing products is not recommended for Teak.
